The fundamental principle of my work is that it is dance - whether that is the moving body, the movement of materials and objects going through processes (in their ever changing stasis), or film imagery.

I see the creation of work as a constant dialogue between the artist(s) and the material or medium. I am cultivating, and responding through, a sense of active listening, often leaving objects to be altered by natural processes. I seek to give space for the material or medium to speak.

I am interested in images and choreographic ideas that present something that is only part recognizable. By not being able to define what something is, a space is created and this space invites in the spectator's imagination.

My work is presented in varied spaces and situations, ranging from disused farm-buildings to traditional proscenium theatre spaces, from the wilds of the Burren to an urban cellar in Cardiff.

This incorporates live physical performance, sonic and visual art installation and video under the umbrella name Man Troi. Man Troi has a track record of bringing together experienced artists to work collaboratively and site-sensitively in unusual spaces.
